After a few revisions and modifications the scoring program is getting close to release for testing.

In the next few weeks I will post links to the install executable.

A few things to remember...

1, As with all aplications that are new, there will be bugs.

2, DO NOT attempt to use the first few versions for official events as you will probably be sorry. Create fake reces with club member names and hold the event as if it were real (only at your computer). or, for those of you that setup races now, use the old entry forms and scores to hold an event using the application and see how it comes out.

3, When you find a bug (creating fake races and holding events) report them to the email address that will be used to report them. do not post them here unless it is severe as I will probably be very busy fixing things once it is released.

4, Don't get mad at me if something does not work right right away as you would not believe the lines of code that has gone into this. (thousands) I will get to whetever the problem will be

5, this is a work in progress.

And finally, a sneak peek at what the final version will look like. I told you that things would probably change!

And you just HAD to put a channel conflict on the heat setup sheet didnt you

Kidding Bill, THANKS for all your hard work ..... ;)

Just a quick update as to whats been happening.

I have been able to integrate a usb webcam into the application to capture the start of heats when using the internal audio clock. The routines are generic enough so that most webcams should work (I have been able to connect and use four different ones). After working this out, I have realized that the quality of the image does not have to be spectacular... just good enough to tell who's over. I think, after testing that a usb webcam can do this just fine.

I hope to release by the end of the month.

Here is a quick screenshot of the integrated video.

Guys,

I have been working on a beta test version with Bill and this program is excellent. Windows based and easy to use. He is working on some refinements and some recommendations I have made to him but the end product will be outstanding. I am still doing some work with it and will be testing the tunnel race entries with it to really give it a whirl. Have about 2-3 more weeks of testing to go yet.

Will be worth waiting for.

John

Way too cool Bill! :D The club I recently joined is currently in the process of moving it's operations to a new pond, so I will encourage our President to try your program out. Look awesome! Jeff.

Bill it looks great. Thanks for all your hard work putting the new prgram together.

I would love to have a copy. We are working on GPS'ing our test pond to put out bouys over the cold months and I know the guys would love to have some lap counting software. It looks awsome Bill.

Bill & John,

Please count me in you beta Test lineup also even though we turn left. What you have done looks great and I for one can't wait to try it out. We have a fun run on New Years Day, a time to try out new things.

Oh man - are you a lucky guy. :D

I wish my wife would let me have 'POLE DANCING' in our lounge room. Would it be OK if I was to drop in on my next visit to the states. :p

Regards to all.

Wild Bill Annabel.
