Well , this is way off base but I gotta tell ya it scared the hell out of me. This eve the wife and I are sitting in my newly made rc room of the house, I go out to get a fresh beverage from the fridge-and see a flashlight beaming around the back door handle of the living room-hair on end- before I can back off and get the weapon, the light shines right in my face!!! Left with no choice than to go for the charge and yell theory "thinking I will scare off the would be bugular" , Im returned with a 9mm drawn on me and a cop yelling TPD "who the hell are you", from outside my own back yard -and Im inside!! Next thing I know there are 8 cops with weapons drawn screaming at me to stay inside. Turns out some dumb ***** robbed a house a few blocks away and bailed out in or near my backyard. This is a neighborhood I grew up in and have lived near for 40+yrs- Grabbing a beer from the fridge will ALWAYS remind me of that flashlight and the hair is still standing up on my arms !!!!!

Definately. I am glad that you came out of it ok. It would be hard not to be p***ed though. Got 3rd at the race. Didn't see you there sunday.

Your right,.. and if you lived you probably would have spent the rest of your trying to forget about it. Thanks to the f_ckin THIEVES AND CRIMINALS, normal people have to put up with this kind of stuff...

I'm sorry to be nasty but the older I get the more I can't stand a thief.. I work hard for my little piece of the world...

You GOTTA be effin kidin me!!!! I'll bet that was shaken and not stirred.

In hindsite , Im GLAD I didnt have my gun in hand- that could have been ugly, for either one of us !!!

Bet he had more then one beer after that lol

Lets put it this way- I called in sick Monday-hung over as hell ;) ;)

I talked with a Tampa police officer today who is a customer of mine, He said had I came to the glass door with the gun pointed at him- he would have shot me without hesitation  Not cool. Lesson being - make DAMN sure who your pointing a weapon at before you ever do it !!!!

I don't think thats even legally legit. Especially if you are unaware of the police on your property. A shot from a police officer like that would result in a severe law suit and I am sure that some firings would insue. At least that would happen in some places.

I'd be a little more concerned about being ALIVE !!!

You draw a weapon on a police officer & they have the right to shoot without hesitation. Doesn't matter why, you point a gun at a cop & you will get fired upon. There would be nobody getting fired & no successful lawsuit even if you lived to try it.

I cant fault him for doing his job- I have to agree with Don- draw down on a Cop and you WILL be shot. As it should be.It would just suck under these circumstances.

Not to be funny but, did you notice that from your viewpoint, no matter what size weapons they had, the business ends looked REALLY big at that time?

drew, not having your gun saved your life. those officers were already involved in a chase, adreniline pumping, i think he would have come out on top. with their training and reaction time to a weapon, i don't like your chances.

anthony, i feel the same way, the older i get also. i don't care if it's a dime or a dollar, you're still a thief in my book. the gray areas keep getting smaller. going to all black or all white, VERY little in the middle. kinda like only a little pregant, imo.

Im afraid your right. I would have been the looser for sure- as well as my family. Sad part is, I really did nothing wrong, nor would the officer given the situation. It will bring a differant approach to any future handling of a gun in this type instance for me.
