What is a baseline pipe you guys are running with the above setup.I have a decent fin for my JAE .12 now and i need to get some more revs from the engine.NOt really peaking out like i want to.

It starts and goes without a tow :D but i think there is more there yet.Prop is 1440 and nitro is 50%

Too windy today for this little guy..

Terry, you will need to run it as short as you can get it. Cut the pipe so it just slides over the header and then run it as close to the bend as you can and still get a good seal with the coupler. Once you make sure it runs at this setting you will want to cut the header so that only about 1/4" - 1/2" stick inside the pipe. Give me a call if you have any questions.

Glenn, I sent you a e-mail looking for your Phone number .I can get it off your site but i want to know when a good time to call would be.

I am pretty sure i know what you want me to do but want to make sude before i cut the pipe and or header..

Hi Terry!

I have the 3port NR (head at .012) and same pipe as you; w/last yr's boat I ran pipe from 7 1/4" down to as low as 6 3/8" - had my best run's at 6 5/8"; 6 3/8 turned out to be too short for that particular Sholund 1440; With this yrs boat, I'm still at 6 3/8" and so far it has pulled every prop I've put on it (have to get this boat weighed... must be lighter... it is scratch built from plans using CF laminated to very thin ply). Am running @55mph (@4.1 sec from bouy 6 to bouy 1).

Guys, i cut my pipe like glenn said and slid it on over the header and guessed at the length and tossed the boat and when i found the needle i ran few laps, checked the plug and temp and pipe length and i was at 6-5/8 inch to the middle of the cones or band , whatever you would like to call it.This pipe has what i would call a little 1/8-3/16 band and not a distict cone or weld like some have.I scored a line on the pipe and that will be my reference line.

I used my friend Dan's plastic gage that has the hole in it for the glow plug stud and measures from the plud along the center of the header and down the cl of the pipe..

I came home and flowed the carb and the water so i would know where to set the card the next time it is this temp.

The Tf off my sport 20 worked very well and i have 2 others to try someday but this one is race ready now..

Todd, that is too funny we at the same length but makes sense.what nitro do you run.

My prop is a bag b/s 1440.I would gues i am running low to mid 50 as well based on what my sport 20 took to cover the same ground and it was 48ish mph..

thanks guys
