Just curious. I searched and found nothing on what nitro most guys are running and would be interested in what percent or brand you are running. Myself I have been running 55 % VP that I get from a buddy. At 20 a quart its a lil high so I may just go back to 30% from the lhs. Unless I can buy from VP direct. I thought I read here somewhere a guy is running 70%. Just curious how bad that eats up an engine? Thanks, Duane

Combustion is a chemical process. When you have the four essential elements necessary for a controlled explosion, so long as don't have too much or too less of one or the other, there's absolutely nothing harmful; moreover, if the engine can't take the heat, then it was doomed to blow up. I'm experimenting with running 195 proof grain alcohol imported from Indianapolis, Indiana. If the greedy petrolium wannabees who manufacture nitro don't watch out, there going to get their ***** kicked by an ecologically friendlier alternative that is a hundred times more cleaner burning. Even when it burns, its a cold burn which actually keeps your engine cool.

Keep your eye's out for WRC Racing Fuels, Inc. ®tm.

Wow very interesting. I will definatly keep my eys peeled. I just dint realize how fuel thirsty this lil .45 was gonna be. If I knew it was gonna drink it up so fast I probably would have went the Zenoah or brushless route. Boo hoo for me I know if you wanna play you gotta pay!

Wonder if the grain alky is good to drink? Hard to find good shine around here. Indy is just up the road My lips are burning already

Saymikey just curious what's the fourth ingredient? I know you need heat fuel and oxygen but what am I missing here? Just always interested in expanding my mind. Thanks

Just remember one principle - the higher the nitro content (%), the richer the needle setting will have to be, hence more fuel will be burned. A 45 engine should consume between 10-12 oz of fuel per run under relatively normal conditions. That means that you should get about 15+ runs per gallon of fuel. Not too bad compared with a 90 or 101, which consumes 20-26 oz per run. Twins are even worse.

I did not sat 4 someone else did. But being a mechanic its compression no squeeze the bang wont push the piston down

Duane,

Have run , and always will run 70% in my .21 engines. 6 years and no engine failures due to

fuel %. The .21's I've run seem to like it!!
