Who has a realy good nitro engine that will last?

CMB, ROSSI,PICCO,ECT....

Just want a lite, fast, high reving engine. This is some thing that I'm interested in starting and running fast Rigger.

Think 85 Mph.

I like my MAC84's. They run real well right out of the box. I went 108mph with a bone stock one at last years SAW record trials. B)

What about heat racing? I plan on putting it on a Mongoose. What do you think the Rossi90 will do

Joe I have MAC 84's in my SGX twin & the same motor that went 108 @ SAW's now resides in my SGX 80 heat racing hull. I think for the power to weight ratio a MAC 84 or CMB 80 will be the best bet. I ran a CMB 90 in my SGX but I like the way the boat handles with the lighter 84 motor in it. is your Mongoose a 67/80 size or a 90 size hull?

Mac 84 is the right ticket to be in high 80's

Today my GR with a Mac 84 mod was clocked at 113.2mph at our saw event.

Mongoose 90 It only is just the hull and sponsons. I need to pick up hardware, cowling, ect...

Hmmm, a 90 Mongoose is a bigger hull. With the weight of the hull a CMB90 might be a better choice for the added h.p. to move the bigger boat. The Mongoose is not a bad heat race hull but based on it's design I believe 70-75mph is a more realistic heat race speed to be stable, consistent & driveable with that design. Don't kid yourself though, alot of people who "think" or "say" they are heat racing at 80 & over aren't & I've seen many examples of a finally tuned 75mph heat race hydro beat up on those supposed 80mph+ boats. The making of the linner is AAC, will this become a problem with high temps, engine modifications and high RPMS?

There has to be some tricks to get the hull lighter :p

The CMB 90's can be had with the ABC liners. Get in touch with Dave Marles @ Prestwich Models & he's a member of this board also. B)

How about Gas engines are they Just way to heavy?Just a side step from nitro...
When doing gas it's best to start with a hull designed for that. Granted, I won the '99 Internats gas hydro class with a converted 90 nitro Roadrunner hull but with the "built for gas" hulls out there now that is the better way to go. :)

OH, I know that is their something that I could look for like markings. I beleive the hull has no paper work.

If you want a high reving engine, go with the Mac .84, if you get a bigger heavier boat go with the CMB as it has more torque for the heavier boat.

If you are looking for a gas rigger, there are plenty out there, Andy makes a Eagle Gas rigger that runs well. You need to see what rigger you want and see if its made for gas or nitro.

Rossi 90 in a rigger will do only one thing - explode!!! They require constant load and realistically a full cradle engine mount. The crankcase is not strong enough to use the split engine mounts and the crank pin is too small and will shear off because of the motor unloading and loading back up suddenly as most hydros do.

Also the A90s are a more recent option and they do haul @$$ and should be considered (note I do sell A90s in Australia so I do suggest you consult others for their opinions)

EMS Racing - Part of the 2004 Aussie Assault almost made it but ran out of cash club
