I am new to the outriggers, it took me awhile to get to like the look of the rigger. I have boats and currently building Newtons plan157 The Eagle (Lobster). I am more interested in building rather than buy RTR, it gives me a chance to understand the dynamics and shape of the hull also to customize. Anyways:

1- Is there any plans for free or to purchase for a twin rigger? I went to the 2008 Orlando winter Nats and saw a twin there but the engins were not side by side, they were staggered.

2- I have seen plans where the engine is not water cooled, is that a good idea?

3- How is it desided how far the front sponsons should be away from the tub?

4- Is the Dynamite Marine engine a good engine?

5- Is there a fomula to figure CG?

Thanks for all the help in advance.

No plans that I know of. You can base a twin off single engine plans.

Best to water cool, but aircooled can work.

3- How is it desided how far the front sponsons should be away from the tub?

Inside width from sponson to sponson should be about 60% of Afterplane. Afterplane

is the distance from the trailing edge of the front sponsons to the transom of the hull.

4- Is the Dynamite Marine engine a good engine?

Yes they are good engines.

5- Is there a fomula to figure CG?

About 20% of Afterplane. Some designers use alot less, some alot more. Example: If the Afterplane is 10", the CG would be 2" behind the sponsons.

Thanks for all the help in advance.
