Several years ago, there was a sign just north of the Columbia River on Interstate 5 that read:

Welcome to Washington

Thank You for visiting.

Now please return to California

It was taken down by the state DOT a few months later after getting several complaints from residents of California

Rick's picture probably was, the sign along I-5 most definately wasn't. To this day, I've not been able to find out if the DOT put it up or one of the local residents from Vancouver or Battleground repainted a legit sign as there's never been anything else put up to replace it
