Howdy all,

i'm in the Southern California area,i ran a Dumas sk-daddle ten or fifteen years ago.Ienjoyed the challange and excitment so much i'm almost done building another one.the 36 inches of old school wood have been given fiberglass reinforcments throughout, and the bottom of the hull has been carefully modified copying the full size drag boats(runner bottom .slight rocker bottom ect)this time instead of a modest K&B7.5 I'll be using the O.S.Max 81.Because i cant decide between surface drive and sub-surface i'll be starting with a semi-sub-surface drive(the prop 3/4 submirged)and semi-transluesent paint(kidding)feel free to correct any mispellings and as far as puncuation(sic)I'll post the missing commas, periods ect all in one post at the end of the year.

thanks for allowing me a place in your group,

steve

Wow and welcome...... ive been thinking of doing a boat with metal flake..... what paint did you use?

no paint whatsoever.a very fine grade glitter, coat after coat of clear epoxy, (most of wich is sanded off) until flat. then the stripes and more epoxy and sanding.its the backward way to a jell-coat finish.the photos dont really do it justice.

LMAO!! I lost my dining room table to the hobby sometime last year. I think it's still in the room though...somewhere.

Propjockey Racing.....work bench needed.

I just picked up a 3' x 9' solid wood door(it was on it's way to the dump) makes a real nice work bench.
