Here is a pic of the new setup I am going to try on my SGX 90 boat. After talking with Andy and watching the newest versions in action thought I would give it a try.

The rudder blade is 1 1/4" in place of the 1" and the strut is a Octura SS skeg strut with the skeg cut off. The bracket for the strut is made by me.

those Octura stainless struts are very nicely made and work good, I've used one in the past (very durable). Is that a .125in aluminum plate your using on the transom?

Yes that is 1/8 Alum plate with 3/16 ply behind it. The plate is drilled and taped for the hardware. the plate is perfectly square this is what I use to set up the rest of the boat off of. I went this way so the hardware dose not dig into the transom like it dose with the wood.
