Hey everyone as of this week I'm new here. My favorite pastime is building boats. Right now I'm in the middle of building two 42" hydros from a set of Atlas Van Line plans I pulled off line and had them enlarged. The toughest part of the build for me is the canopies and cockpits, so if anyone knows where I can purchase the plastic ones, a reply with the info would be very much appreciated. I'm currently just trying to get these two boats done while working on my skill set and improving before I move on to the laser cut kits. The two I'm working on, I cut every piece by hand, sanded and glued in place, so they were a bit of work, they aren't done yet. I'm not sure what a typical weight should be for this type of boat without any hardware but the one I have ready for hardware with the hand built
cockpit is right about 5 pounds. I'm not sure what to expect after I get all the drive gear and batteries in it, more later
