Was that in Warren? wow i am glad i dont live there any more
yes, 10 Mile & Ryan. I was driving on EB I-696 when the storm really started dumping on us; after I went over I-75 (watching people drive the wrong way on 696 just to get the hell off of I-75) I saw water pouring down onto the shoulders from the service drive. All of a sudden traffic just came do a dead stop, and I figured I should get my ass to higher ground and took the Dequindre exit. Once I got to the top of the ramp I was already seeing dead cars in deep water. went south on Dequindre to 10 mile (fording through some scary deep water) and went east on Ryan. When I got to the 10 & Ryan interchange, the water was almost over my bumper (Ford Ranger.) I knew the air intake was at the top of the right headlamp, but I was still shaking worse than I've ever been in a 1/8 Scale final as I plowed through. ended up sitting for three hours in that bank parking lot waiting for things to calm down before I ventured out again. I was amazed at the number of ********* who tried to blow through 2-1/2 feet of water with their VW GTIs or BMW 3-series, only to have their cars stop dead six feet in.
