Ya know, I seen some of their stickers on a few boats at a race last weekend. Went to there website and they are located just around the corner from me. Small world........

The original RadioActive Hobbies was in Lost Wages, this one here is in Texas. I wonder if the guy moved or sold the name.

Grease has inherent "Stiction" that Oil doesnt have. I ran Omsoil Full synthetic for the first time after stripping all the grease off and the Difference was HUGE!!!!!!!! I thaught that maybe it was the difference between grease and Oil but when i tried regular Dinosuar based oil, RPM's fell slightly! Switched back to the full synthetic and back up they went again!

i quit using grease some time ago. i now use oil and other additves for a soaking bath when the cables are not in use. they sit in a recloseable plastic box.

The BEST thing I did on my cat when I built it, was make up a automatic oiler.

Works great. I run A mix of different things. Gear oil worked well, But STINKS.

Found STP and 10w30 works well.

Grease I feel is thick enough to SLOW the cable down in the tube.

And it slings everywhere.

I have used Caliper lube, Silicone **** with a high temp for brakes, and that works good. Its like in a cheese wize container.

Is this is the same group??? I remember a number of years back seeing a couple of Radioactive cats, blatantly splashed off the Aeromarine Sprintcat, talk about junk..... YUCK! They had more twist in them than a back country road

Hey guys, just wanted to drop a line just to say we are not affiliated in any way to the old Radio Active Hobbies. We are located in the Houston area. I have heard negative things about the old Radio Active Hobbies products but i can assure you that ours are nothing of the sort. We are boaters, building for boaters, not some company out to make a buck!

Thanks for your time,

-Mike

Mike, welcome to the site and i'm glad to hear that you are in no way associated with that clown that ran the on in Vegas.

Back when he was still in business, I ordered a boat from him for my wife. After getting jerked around by him for 2 months I got my money back. All I got from him was one excuse after another, his Brother died. OK, acceptable and no problem with that. The weather was too hot or too cold to lay up hulls. Kinda funny that we have companies here that do 'glas work every day with no problems and I'm in the rust belt. I tried to get any hull that he had but no luck there either. Afterwards I found out about how bad his hulls were and am glad that the order didn't go through.

Hang around on the site and toss in some comments once in a while. The people here are more apt to buy a product from a fellow IWRC member.

Hi guys I'm the other half of Radioactive Hobbies. Mike and myself are in no way shape or form associated with the now defunct Radio Active Hobbies and from what I hear about them we do not practice or condone their shady business practices. We formed Radioactive Hobbies because we love the hobby and wanted to help it spread, as you know in the R/C world model boating is a small percentage of it but one we enjoy. We have some exciting products in the works along with some necessary essentials such as our cable grease and after run oil, as a matter of fact we are in the final stages of closing a deal with David Sandoz (HRS Racing) to purchase his tooling and inventory of ultra thin marine gasket for the Zenoah G231/G260's. I have several years experience behind me in the R/C field and although I took a leave from R/C boating to focus on work and family thanks to Mike I have caught the bug again and have dived in head first but this time I have gone gas. I will be renewing my membership this coming January with LSMBC and hope to see you at the pond. :)

Ron is right, if you hang around here on IW and people get to know you guys it could be very good for business ....... ;) Everyone here will buy from a IW member before they go looking elsewhere.... I know, I have got my share !!!!

Sure will Russel, we were heading that way for the fall classic until I heard it was cancelled, man were we disappointed. Mike and myself plan to make all the races we can and head over to slidell for the gas nats next season so you should see us a bunch!!

Dusty :D

It has been my experience with the cable lube on both K&B and Lawless that if you use a good oil or grease, like a synthetic that clings good, the cable and plastic tube are unlikely to fail if it is lubed good between every heat. The first Lawless that I had, I was so concerned with breaking in the powerhead that I ran several tanks of fuel and forgot about the cable lube. The cable made a hole in the plastic tube. Since then I have used both the synthetic grease and at other times the oil/stp. No failures if they are lubed at every refuel. I am sure that a automatic oiler provides extra protection especially if you are turning 35000 rpm

I seen this on your site. The race was on. There were about 20-30 boats there, not the best turnout but it was still on.

You have to be kidding!!! I was so hyped about going until I read this over at Jim's Boat Dock:

The Fall Classic Races, Oct 30-31, of the Lone Star Model Boat Club, Crosby, TX have been cancelled.

Hope to see you all next season.
