Guys I am in the process of rigging a 8255 ML Boats kit. I will be running a 1527 mounted in a narrow OSE motor mount to keep it in the center of the offset. The issues I am having is once I get it to where it lines up for a straight line to strut it is 1/4" off the stringer. I will not be able to take the motor out of mount no room for a tool. What have you guys been doing for this sitstuation? I was thinking a plate mounted thru bottom and then mount motor to that but I want to keep holes to a minimum for water. If any one has any pictures of one set up and willing to share I would appreciate it.Thanks Jerry

Just an idea.

I made these angle brackets, then mounted the motor mount assy. to the ply with blind nuts. The whole assy was then epoxied in the hull. No problem taking the assy. out, and I'm only committed to the bolt pattern in the ply base if I want to go a different route.

Doug thank you for replying and yes that is a great idea just need to be able to make the aluminum plates.. Need to ask my buddy in the machine shop to make something. Can you also take a close up of the plate you made for the speedo. Is or does it need to have vibration isolators on it if I mount it to the floor of the boat? Or can I do like the motor mount on a pc of wood and use T nuts to the plywood and the rubber gromets to give it some movement?

I glued wood channel I made (kind of like a drawer slide) in each side of the hull then made a 1/8" ply base for the ESC.

Remove two tiny screws and the ESC plate slides out the front. The ESC is mounted pretty solid. Velcro underneath in the rear, and the strap across the top in the front. ;)

I didn't take any pics of that as it went together but I will if that will help.

You can barely make it out in these pics.

I like it Doug! Neat and secure.

It is a neat mount solution. I've done similar mounts in a few hulls without stringers, but mine were not nearly as elegant as Doug's.
