Hello,

I'm looking to build a fast cat, something that will run 55-60 MPH. I have been in R/C for years and have run electric and even one gas boat (although a weedwacker motor might not count :)

I really like the Offshore Models 50" Cat with the Turbine Cowl. I'm thinking of running the Zenoah 260 in it, but short of that, I'm lost.

How would you guys build this boat ? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Tim

Aeromarine Avenger is my top choice for a gas cat. Build it just like the instructions tell you, put a Propshop 6717/3 prop on it & it works right off the bench. If you would like more info & set up, send me a p/m as I am a dealer for Aeromarine hulls & hardware. :)

I have a Red over White Avenger with Speedmaster hardware and a Stock Zenoah Everything you need . . .ALL is NIB or NIP and it's forsale. Had it in Vegas at the Worldcup.

$1180 in total, sell it for $1000 Paypal + S&H.

I would have to agree with the Avenger. Although, the engine needs to be moved to like 13 3/4" from back of transom.

I have a stryker and I am waiting on a new Top Gun 2 to try out.

The RC BoatWorks Stryker has been the popular choice in gas cats on the west coast for years. I've been testing their new Top Gun and got it up to 64 mph on the GPS. It will probably heat race in the high 50s, though. It's bigger than the Stryker and should be at its best in rough water. It's winter here and I couldn't get it to blow over, even running into a high wind with lots of chop.
