Looks like an Irwin...may even be a .20 size...

Others may know for sure...

I really don't think this is a 21 pipe.. it's way bigger than any of my .21 pipes.. it's real close to the same size as my AA45 pipe,.

Steve,.. why do you say no good? Got to be good for something..

Anthony,

Good Irwin 45 Nitro pipe!

You may want to change the stinger size a little bit.

9" to 9.5" is a good setting for your 45 motor.

Thanks,

Irwin 40 pipes start with 10.3.75"- 10.125 " plug to weld Maybe even start at 10.5" That Going from memory I would keep the stinger between .350" to .380" .

will running pipe too short reduce speed? or will it increase until you cannot launch? I was running it at 8.875,.. to the front edge of the seam on the AA,.. and dog slow.. prop was questionable also..

What happens is the engine can not make enough HP at the lower end of the range and the boat will not get up on the pipe with a big prop. The engine will get hot because it is TRYING to get up and can't. Kind of like adding too much head clearance and the engine then has not enough HP to do its job. You can see this with a .21 engine even better than a 45.

So, if I had the boat running like 67 mph, and was able to launch ok,.. it's not slow do too a pipe being too short?
