Were here at the lake and getting things set up. We'll be posting results as the day goes on if there's anything to report. We'll also have some photos available.

After some rain showers this morning the day has calmed down some and the wind is come and go but many are getting passes with with several gas hydros running in the upper 80's to over 100 mph. Mike Bontoff has set the G-2 Hydro record at 2.217 seconds or 103.81 mph. His best one way pass was 106.23. The boat is ready to run again shortly and we will see if he is able to chip some more away.

Mark Grim shows what a boat should NOT look like at mid trap in the straightlines (just before it crashed).

Mike's G2 record is the first time a G class engine has had a two way average over 100 mph. That is about the same as his GX2 record with a CMB 35 and his 106+ one way pass is nearly as fast as his 110 mph pass with a Quickdraw. The engine was a modified Chung Yang (Sikk) 27 in his SAW rigger.

Mid day update: Jim Johnson increased his Gas Thunderboat record to just under 60mph (59 and change) and Mike Bontoff has set the G-1 Hydro record at 103.6 mph with Chris Grim, having the fastest one way of both at 104.65 mph, nipping at his heels at 103.0. It's a great battle at Legg Lake! Fastest pass of the day is Don Maher at 113mph with his X Hydro.

The weather was up and down with unexpected rain all day long. The 103.6 two way average from the Grim/CC Racing team is now the G-1 Hydro record (I told you there was a battle) and Mike Bontoff is working hard to move the mark. Tomorrow is going to be awesome!

Several other boats have been making passes on the varying water conditions have mostly beached our Seismic tunnels. We've made some setup/test passes at 75mph with the .45 and have been trying a few different powerhead/prop/head options with the .21 and are hoping the water will be more favorable tomorrow for some meaningful passes.

More reports tomorrow.

After a little rain and weed clearing this morning, the Grim/CC Racing G-1 Hydro just bumped the record further to 104.945 mph with a fast one way of 106.585.

It was a great fight. Cris Grim drove his father's boat to previously unheard of speeds for a Zenoah. The engine was built by Carlo of CC racong and was very strong. Now all the NAMBA gas hydro records are over 100 mph and Cris Grim joins Mike Bontoft as the only people to run gas boats over 100 mph. We were not prepared for such a good effort, but we will be back.
