Make sure that collet is almost off, might be stuck on the teflon lso those shafts do break they are not welded to good check your collet again if you can get a hold of it from the front you might have to take the engine out try it from there

You may have to unscrew the flex out of the collet. Look at how the wires in the flex are wound, and turn it in a direction that would unscrew it from the collet. If this works...buy a new flex and an octura collet to replace the stock one (taking for granted that it is an MV you are talking about, since that is what is used for your avatar).

Also get away from the stock shaft, i was told which i did get a shaft from electric offshore there is a upgrde they sell.

The collets tend to be over tightened all the time, they are weak and dimple the collet ears into the shaft. This is mainly due to the wrong taper in the collet.

Sean is right, the shaft is wound a certain way. Turn the shaft in the direction the prop spins while applying a slight pull. Should come out,for sure unscrew the collet all the way till it isnt on the threads anymore.at this rate the shaft is probably wasted from pulling straight out. Key is to load the shaft as if it were a spring while pulling, saves a tight shaft all the time.

thanks for the advice, I unsrewed the collet from the motor ,and removed the motor. I 'll give, unsrewing the shaft for the collet a try now.

hope it works!

Actually you should leave the collet on the engine so you only have to work from one end of the boat. The compression of the engine is enough to hold the collet still while you twist and pull. With it dis-connected it just makes it a little harder to get out, unless you just rip it out of there.

I got it !. I put a wrench on the collet and the nut on the prop end ,then tightend the prop nut all the way till it bottomed out . tightend some more and it unwound itself .
