Nice boat Mr Flynn...

Give me a call from your work some time if your an office boy this week.

Cannot wait to hear more reports about the boat.

Dave

They call it Ertalyte...supposed to be very low water absorbtion! and we had some here at work...

If anyone wants one LMK and I will think about making a batch (I made 4 so far)

do any of you know about running FE outboards in salt water? i run in a salt water pond and am worried about the motors shorting out internally due to the conductivity of salt water. i really want to make a FE tunnel but want someone to confirm that it will work before dumping the cash into it. i am also curoius about building a inboard FE tunnel. that one i would use a steerable outdrive such as a blackjack, mounting the battery rearward and motor centered to try and obtain the correct CG... if anyone has tried either of theese options please let me know the results..

thanks

Just to give an update:

Running 1515 1y

Poly RC 6000 4S1P + now hyperion 5500's 4S1P

OS lower, with one of my adaptors and a modified REK coupler

Hydra 240 timing set on 'normal'

various props, starting with a X438

CoG set at around 27-28%

CL of prop a good 10mm maybe closer to 12mm with slight positive angle (which I need to remove)

Boat is extremely fast and handles awsome, would have to be easily in the 55MPH range (comparing to my Nova/Vision which was clocked at 55 on radar in it first proper run).

I am very happy with the way it fly's in the straights and drops into the corners, very smooth. A couple of times it started to lift off, but it gave me enough time to react and let off the throttle before it went over. Most of the other boats I have run tend to look fine, then all of a sudden, 'bang' your are flying through the air LOL

I just though I would add my observations on this boat, as it does not have the hooking issue Mike L had if you set the CoG correct.

Cheers

Kris

Kris, I am sure with the battery as far back as you have it mounted that you would not have those issues. Unfortunately, I was looking for a tunnel that would need no modification to do a full race open class setup to, and having to cut the cowl up was not what I was looking to do. The normal builder would not be able to just add a radio box under the cowl and do what you accomplished, which is what lead me to sell mine, and ultimately reseach the Shaman. Glad you got yours to work well! I bet with that power plant you have its rollin! I added the 36-60-2200kv medusa to the Shaman this weekend and its in the high 50's so I'm pretty pleased! Mike

A normal builder can actual get a Vision, how about a Shaman?

LOL sorry I just had to say it.

I understand what you are saying, I just thought it was nessessary to tell others that it is still excellent with FE poer.

Cheers

Kris

Actually production for the Shaman starts the end of this week, and we are taking orders right now! Ron has Carl shipping the molds as we speak I am first on the list to! Mike
