I seen some outriggers made for 60/80 motors. My question is what is the difference. Are those two motor sizes that close in power? I'm not interested in saw but lets say you wanted to a 45 motor in a hull built for a 21. or a 90 in a hull built for a 67. What are the pro's and cons?

If you are going to do that try them in Andy's Eagles.

The 21 will take a 45 no problem.

And the 45 will take a 101 no problem.

Crazy fast set ups. You better watch carefully.

I built some SGX's overpowered and what I can say they're stupid fast BUT for heat Racing a smaller boat like a SGX 21/45 motor probably won't finish a heat in front due to the chopps.. My SGX 21 has a Picco 45 black head and also runs super for two laps but again not for heat racing! Bigger is better in my opinion.Gill

I agree with Gil. Example.....i put a .67 in a sgx .40 hull and set the oval record about ten years ago. The boat ran in the high ninetys but could not possibly finish two laps in a heat race. My .67 sgx, which I have for heat racing, runs about 80 mph all day long in heat racing conditions. Which do you want to run. 40 hull for two laps or 67 hull all day long. Size does matter!

Thanks for the responses. I was just making sure.

My next question is. If you look at the older 90's era Riggers. The 45 size riggers back then are the same size as the 67 riggers of today's riggers. Why such a big change.

I built a rigger based of a old 45 rigger and a new 67 rigger. I'm try to figure out what would be best for it. I'll get measurements tonight.
