OK, because not all motors have the holes in their mounting lugs the same distance apart because of case width and length. Yeah, it's a real pain in the you-know-where to drill them so that they fit right. Anyone got any hot tips on how to do this?
Make a jig out of a square scrap of aluminium or steel 1/16 - 1/4 inch thick. Measure and scribe straight lines lenghtwise and crosswise that intersect where you want the holes.Center punch and drill.clamp this to you'r mounts and use as a drill guide.
Just mount your mount brackets in a milling machine and drill them the right distance from the end of the mount and so the spacing is right . and then hand tap. Scott
Sorry, but a milling machine won't fit in my tool box. If you buy the mounts from Jerry Crowther he will drill & tap the mount for any engine you want. He is a great guy to deal with. Send him an email.
