I know this is an older boat made by mongoose it measures 36 inches long and i put a stock pre exr picco .45 with exhaust throttle in it. I need some direction on the prop size i was thinking an H32? I also need a cowl for it new or used the engine is offset to the stbd. side of the boat. Also a little history on this company would be nice too.

the mongoose was one of andy browns boats.

i would try maybe an X-455/457 on it.

i am sure others will chime in with their recomendations.

Is it a Garfield Hobby Shop Mongoose? I have one of those still in the box (.21 Kit) and would like to know about getting a turn fin for it...

Any pics of it would be great!

Since you have a 45 engine in the boat, look at the following props:

1457

1460

1655

H-18

H-22

All are 3/16" props, traditionally used for 45 boats & engines. The H-32 is a 1/4" shaft prop.

Shane,

H-32 is for a 67 or 80 hydro. :D

1655,1657,1455,1457,1460 reduced,or ABC H-18 & H-22

would all be good choices to start with.

I would stay around 55 to 58 mm max.

A 1457 would be my first pick to get it up and running

well.

Good Luck Testing,

i have a texas cut 1455 would that work ok on this.

Shane,

It may work OK, not sure how the Texas cut was done though?

A 1455 may need to be pitched up a little bit, and run your

pipe as short as you can go and still be able to launch.

Have Fun,

The Texas cut was to remove the rounded section of blade on the side, makes a 14XX series prop look like the old octura "bow tie" style props.

THIS ENGINE DOESNT MAKE MUCH POWER MAYBE 2 H.P. ITS OLD AND STOCK BUT IN NEW CONDITION

Run it through the EAP and check it's number's, on 60% nitro it might be spot on.
