I have been around boat racing all my life. Competing in stock and modified outboard racing with APBA,AOF, and NBRA. I now have an interest in getting involved in R/C boats. I don't know a whole lot about them but have some local friends who are involved and are trying to guide me in the right direction.

I am looking to purchase a nitro hydro 30"-36" and I need a complete outfit boat-engine-radio-ect. Any information will be greatly appreciated.Thanks......Doug Schultz

Doug if you log onto the IMPBA web site www.impba.net you will find the District Director for your area it is Brian Nelson ([email protected]) you would be a part of District 6. Brian is also the IMPBA National Safety Director. Hope this helps you out.

Thanks bzubee, not really interested in joining any racing clubs, at least not yet. I will check out the site though and see if I can gain any info.

Doug,

I would recommend this boat.

It's an inexpensive and painless way to get your feet wet and a little nitro on your hands. Then you can graduate from there if you want to. :)

A couple of the guys on this forum are involved with this boat and can give you some pointers too, if needed.

Good boating,

Andy

Andy - Thanks for recommending the Miss Vegas

The website for more information on the Miss Vegas is: aquacraftmodels.com

If you are not interested in racing at this time, this is a good way to get started for under $300.

Hey Doug.....used to race the knee jockey stuff myself and these things don't

beat you up nearly as bad. If you can be swayed to run some outboard stuff,

Mike Crawford is building some really nice tunnels.....ran some runabout classes

with him back in the day and my brother ran with him in the U.S. Title Series.

I stopped by his place on my return trip from DePue (Pro Nationals) and was

really impressed with what he was building. If you are interested in talking to

him, PM me and will get you his phone number.

Thanks for the heads up Ron,

I know Mike, or at least I know who he is. He used to race with our club-HAWKEYE STOCK OUTBOARD ASSN- back in the 70's. I was just a kid then but I remember him. If you talk to him ask him about my dad-Homer Schultz- he will remember him. I didn't know Mike was into this R/C stuff.

I just bought a Maus 7.5 outboard rig. Still waiting on delivery. Send me Mikes number I would like to call him just to shoot the s*#t. Doug Schultz ;)
