Anybody notice that the flexshaft and collet do not align well vertically? It seems to me, on my boat at elast, that the motor is mounted too high at the collet resulting in a slight S-bend of the flex shaft into the stuff tube. I am considering adding some washers under the motor mount in front as a short term fix to this. Probably, what I really should do is to shave the mounting rails to conform to the correct angle. Anybody else notice this? What did you do?

I don't have a Vegas but Jeff, that "S" bend in the cable is often desirable in the Inboard world, it takes

the "slapping" motion outa the cable, saves HP and vibration.

most of us have added some washers at the front to give it perfect alignment.

I will not be putting mine back on, instead I will glue a small piece of wood under the stuffing tube to raise it up (some of my friends did it and works great). It wont make any difference to the alignement, but it will prevent the shaft from rubbing on the tube/teflon liner.

Dan.
