Setting a Microburst mono up for a friend. Any advice would be appreciated. Running @ 4200 ft. elevation. Prop that came with the hull is a X450/2. You guys did not let me down on the A.C./.67 Mac post-boat was on the on the money after 2 runs. Appreciate your help. Thanks in advance!

Prop should be a X-447/3 or X-448/2. The X-447/3 will settle the boat the best. Not going to swing any thing much bigger. Pipe should be at 10 3/4 from center of cylinder to start of rear cone to start with. Head clearance between .008-.010. Best pipe we found was the OPS 45 nitro pipe. 55-60 Nitro works best at that altitude.

Let me know how it works.

Thanks Robert, I think the pipe is a OPS item(not sure). I'll e-mail a pic-maybe you can I.D. it. Only have a few small props to try -P230 & X450 but others at the lake have the props you mentioned. Pipe will adjust from 10 1/4 to 11".

Thanks again,

Glenn

Checked head clearance. It was .016. Removed two shims and re checked. .012" will start there. Found a X447/3 and a Prather "Texas cut" 230 SS to try also. Thanks Robert!

I always like the 3 blades.x450/3 or x646/3.I moved the engine forward a 1inch from the directions.I set the boat loose and added weights to the nose to settle it down.

Hey Robert, First run W/ the X450/2 ,head clearance @ .012" and pipe @ 11" a bit slow(sloppy rich). Not very fast. Switched to a P-230 and leaned it out a bit. Much better. Pipe still @ 11". Johnny did a good job of keeping it off the buoys and the pair of mallards(that would not leave the East side of the lake). Room for improvement-but a good first day! Actually excelent for someone that has not run run a boat larger than a .18 RTR!
