Media Servers

Does anyone here have much experience with setting up a media server at home?

I just want a simple setup to plug straight into my Pioneer VSH919 amp or even into my PS3...

Any help on what might be a good buy would be great

Hey Kris,

I just invested in a kick a** audio/theater surround system myself and am thinking down the road the same as you are, espedially after seeing the system the A/V business had where i bought mine. I may consider a Mac mini routed through our iMac, but the trouble is our house is fully finished and the are at two different levels. For now just enjoying my music and surround sound movies after a fifteen year pause. Sorryno real advice on my end at this point, hopefully others will chime in with ideas.
