Ok, it sounds like the OPS AE85002US is an ok motor if I glue in the carb and install a different piston rod. I know "BOAT" stands for "bring over another hundred" however I thought that was only for my 330SS.

Now that that is off my chest what motor should I have purchassed? This will be installed in a 44" old deep V hull with a surface drive and the rudder dirrectly behind the prop.

Any and all suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Pat

Really depends on what you want to do with the boat. If its just for play or you might want to race. You could probably pick up a used motor here to suit your needs.

A 44" boat should have at least a .67 size motor in it.

for new engines, I've had the least headaches with CMB. I've also used a couple used Picco .67 and .80 with out too much trouble setting up, except the rotor on the .80 came apart on me :(

only problem with CMB is that I can only find sources outside the US to get them, thus they're a bit spendy.

There are two sources right here in the forums to get CMB's, allrc is a distributor in Washington State and Stu Barr is the national distributor. You can contact either one and get what you need.

good to know, thank you. I just got in here after joining a local club, so I'm still finding stuff out.

Run the Oooops and go have some fun. :)

I ran OPS 45's and 67's for years and they worked great. Got a buddy who's still running one in his scale boat and it's doing very well. B)

Jim, another source for CMB is Steve Wood. He is on this forum and is listed as steve wood.

He is a very accomplished engine builder and can get anything you need with CMB. Also does great machine work. :)
