Last night, at the movies, they played a trailer for "Madison". It's the first time I've seen anything about it and the first time I've ever seen any movie add about hydroplane raacing. It looks like it will be a great show.

I seen it a to a few weeks ago before "The Passion". Looks to be a very well made movie, lot of real footage. I understand that they used a 1/8 scale to make some parts of the movie. If they did they did a great job of making it look authentic.

I can't remember the release date Don but here's the website.....

Actually the boats were 1/5th or 1/6th scale I think. Harry Gatjens posted some info about them a while back on "that other board". I hope it gets released soon, we've been teased for almost 2 years now............

The hobby shops better gear up, everytime a movie comes out like this people go out and buy stuff up and then get bored. Hey let's build a community 1/8 scale Madison and then at release date sell it on e-bay. It would probably go for a couple hundred thousand dollars....LOL

The ebay title could be "Authentic Ms. Madison from the movie"...LOL

All joking aside this is a cool looking movie.

There was a cool cop movie filmed in San Francisco where they ran an R/C car with a bomb on it and it was flying around the city streets, I can't remember the name of it (Dirty Hairy???) something on that premise. My friends hobby shop was swamped with people buying electric Grass Hopper, Hornets, Midnight Pumpkins etc.....two weeks later they were all broken and for sale...LOL

yeah i read about that one one of the sites.. i think the madison info is on the RCU site.. but im not 100% certin.. can't wait to see it, but havn't seen any previews

I was on the Miss Madison a few weeks back and the release date is at the end of October if I'm right. Miramax (or whoever bought the film) has some other movies coming out at the earlier date that they were going to put it out but didn't want too many movies out at once. This movie was filmed back in 1999 so we still have to wait. Guess who'll be there opening night! One reason why it preview is being shown at The Passion of Christ is because both movies have the same star.

hmm opening night.. movie having boats in it.. might be a good fun run day :)

Grim,

You oughta' go on Jepoardy....you seem to have to much worthless knowledge that only us board people would need.....LOL

I can see it now ...........

"...Radio control devices in movies for $100 please....."

You go Grim!

Iwould like to see a drag boat movie (((((((full surround sound))))))))).It would be much better than The Fast & the Furious, and wouldn't sound like a bunch of bumble bees.

You mean the fake and the fraudulent! That movie was such B.S. to any gearhead that ever held a wrench in his hand!

Any of you guys besides Bill Zuber see Love Liza? Pretty lame but had some R/C boat racing in it at the Slidell site.

Yeah Don, the F&F flix was bad enough to make me hurl. I got tired real fast at hearing "NOS" and seeing Tuner cars. The Charger was a joke too with the fake blower bolted on the hood.

make it 3d imax like the nascar one and you'd find me there in a second.. with or without GF in tow :D

My favorite part of the movie...garage scene--after the kid brings in the junk car to be rebuilt.

Vin Diesel says...

"If you can't find the tools you need in here Mr. Arizona, you don't need to be near a car."
