its not fancy like some of thoes starters out there but it works....lol....had some lipos siting around and some deans connecters so i decided to make my new starter a eletric seem to work well from just bench testing it some new tight motors i have....so we eill see how she does this spring...lol...works for both inboard and outboards

it is a three cell 2100mah 25c hyperion battery seem to work pretty good....tgink about getting a little bit bigger battery maybe a 3000 or 3500 so it last a little longer for weekend races...

I have been using 4000-5000ma packs 4S - 5S - 6S for a couple years. 5000ma will start 10 boats for a two day race without recharging. 4S (14.8v) is the minimum I would recommend. I like 5S as it spins over hard to prime engines a bit faster. 6S (22.2v) for an outboard will sometimes be hard to keep aligned with the flywheel and will spin off it. For an inboard not an issue. Cheap cells over 20C are fine. Just my experience.

I agree! For regular hobby starters 5S works perfect. Big motors need more powerful starters, even Dynatron on 6S battery not enough sometime. Boris

hey thanks for some info guys i just went out and bought a 4000mh 4s 30c so im going ti use that come spring time....it spins my motors over alot faster then the other 3s does....so another ? is even tho the starter says 12 volts and i will be useing 14v battery on it will that burn the starter out? cuz i wouldbt mind useing a 5s on it

4S is safety, 5S can destroy switch. with 6S I recommend to use solenoid to operate motor. Boris
