Anybody know where i can find a main bearing for a 21 novarossi, other than novarossi brand, 14mm, im also looking for a longstroke rod. The new ones are way out there in price.

Thanks Tom

Tom

send me what size bearing you are after,

as i just received another massive shippment from novarossi

regards Aaron

Try Boca for the bearings. Their service is awsome and theer shipping is lighting fast. Here is their link. Ryon

Tom, motors with 1.002 back plate use #16000 rear bearing. Motors with 1.022 back plate use #16800 rear bearing. These are Nova parts numbers. In my opinion the swiss made rear Nova bearing is the one too use. Richard D

Tom,

I don't want to start a debate on bearings, but DON'T put any Bocas in a Novarossi!

Do a search on here and you'll see many people lost motors with Bocas including us. We had one go only 4 heats and ejected a ball into the motor. It was terminal for one of the fastest fully modded Novarossi longstrokes I have ever seen. It made a mess.

And I don't want to hear any excuses that it was the oil, installed wrong or anything else.It was a bearing failure and nothing more.

Use the Novarossi 14mm bearings only and it won't happen to you.

I know Bocas work well in many motors with no issues, but for some reason, their configuration in NR motors leaves a little to be desired. Just not worth the gamble in my opinion.

I know all about the boca bearings, they cannot take the rpm in my opinion they have way to many balls, while the nova bearings have only seven. On the bocas the bearing retainers are breaking and no more motor.

Just my 2 cents

Does anyone know for sure where Boca sources their bearings; I heard from a bearing distributor today that Boca bearings are sourced out of China. Can anyone confirm the manufacturer for BOCA bearings?

Jon,

I could be wrong, but my understanding is that Boca is just a distributor for bearings and they bring in stock from multiple sources, not just one. But, could be China too.

That is also my understanding. Bruce Jacobs, the primary US distributor for Boca, can tell you. I had 2 small Boca shipments (about 8 years ago when Boca was still in FL) that came from overseas (Asia) and the bearings came apart after the 2nd run. Ruined one engine and almost a second. I have used only WIB since then, except for the NR factory big bearing (16000) and have not had any bearing problems since. Just my own experience.
