I run two 4800 25c 3 cell lipo's in my start box. I run one lead to a power panel (12 volts) and another lead to the starter on 24 volts. Just recently one of the batteries was drained too low because I didn't realize my power panel draws power even though I'm not using it. Question is... Do I need to replace the bad battery with the exact same size battery, or can I hook up any size 3 cell lipo together with the old one?

Thanks for the help, Ron

The best is to use the same battery. I'll recommend to use low voltage alarm to prevent deep discharge battery. Boris

In a perfect world, I would suggest getting 2 new batteries, but I understand if you don't want to go that direction. At a minimum make sure you get the same capacity and try and stick with the same "C" rating.

I was told if you run the batteries in series they need to be the same size . If one battery is smaller it could put stress on the other battery .

Put a rocker switch on the power panel wire - illuminated ones are more obvious but drain more juice.

Hi Ron,

There are ways that sometimes work to bring LiPo's back to life after they drop below the low voltage cut off on the standard lipo charger. If there are some electric plane, heli or boat guys in your area they may know know how to do it. I saved a couple of 5s2p packs for my heli a few years ago.

Thanks, John
