Hi all i have 4-PolyRc 25c 5000mah 2s1p 7.4v lipo packs i have been running in my fe boats for the past 3 yrs for a charger/ balancer unit im using a Hyerion EOSO610i net charging the packs at 5 amps. When i bought the lipos there was no maintance instructions with them and the charger instructions where a nightmare to understand i had a club member program the charger. All 4 packs seem to still work fairly well. Is there some way off telling what condition the lipo are in while charging with my Hyperion ? I also read some where when storing lipo's in the off season to only charge to 80% capacity .Is this true? What should the max temparature for these packs be after a 2 1/2 min run? Where else could i look for information on lipo's. Regards Andris Golts.

Your charger can give you a lot of information about your packs. I look at the internal resistance as an indicator of battery quality and health. Three to five milliohms per cell is a good value for new, high quality cells that are warm. Your 2S cells should show around 6 to 10 milliohms. Cold cells have a higher resistance and won't perform well. Cells should be at least 70 degrees to start and 100 degrees is better. After a run 120 to 130 degrees is fine. The http://www.rumrunnerracing.com forum is a good source of electric information.
