I am just curious.

what do people see when discharging and charging life packs.

my new transmitter pack is a 2300 came out 2200 and change

my reciver packs.. i have only charged one and discharged a couple times

it is a 500mah pack.. came out 420-430.

just wondering if that is normal

i am charging the 2300 at 2.3 and discharge at 1.0 amp.. can't do any higher discharge

the little pack i charge at .50 and discharge at .10

any info would be great.. or is that just normal?

Life are like lipo you can't discharge all the way if you forget and leave a switch on and discharge to 0 they are junk.

Is it possible that LiFe cells are like some of the other types of batteries in that they build up to the full rated value over time? I only have one LiFe pack and it's in my 4PLS so, in this case, hitting the top end isn't an issue

Chris,

Forget what you know about charge and discharge..

Its is best.. to charge and make 5 runs.. note the MAH used... this will give you an indcation of usage.

No need to discharge your Life packs unless you are taking them to storgage voltage or moving the voltage (whitch is a good idea from time to time)

Hey z

I have a Hyperion charger and I can't set the voltage only mah charge and discharge and number of cells ect.

When I check the balance voltage with them hooked up they show equal cell voltage

So I have no way of setting a min voltage

I am guessing either the balance board or the charger does that automatically?

Chris,

Most Hyperion chargers have a "store" mode. This typically charges or discharges a pack down to 60%-70% of full charge value.

So should I not be discharging these batteries?

Should I just charge them and leave them or use the storm mode as previously mentioned and leave them until I need to fully charge them?

I wouldent.. no "real" benifit

If you are not going to use then for a few weeks.. take them to strorage charge and allow them to sit there..

Top em off when you are getting ready to run.

I use a Hyperion EOS 0720i charger, and a Hyperion EOS Sentry V2 Battery checker. Search online, there is tons of information / videos on how to charge and maintain Life and Lipo batteries.
