I just got the latest catalog in the mail today. They are finally rolling out the the new .18 powered Cat and it's nice! Some changes from the prototype that he had last year in Toledo. RTR for $369.00 with a nice starting kit for it for another $59.95 with more than the usual pieces. It's called the Mean Machine 18.

Also is an offshore mono hull for the .12-.18 motors, "The Rio Roses" for $139.95. Not much info on this one though, it's more of a do-it-yourselfer hull.

That .18 cat may be just the ticket to compete in A-hydro. Is there info on that cat available online anywhere ?

I was just in the Aeromarine web site and nothing yet in there. Imagine an Avenger but only 29" long and 9" wide. Ditch the .18 and dump a hot .21 in there and it ought to scoot!

If it's the same motor that he had in it at Toledo, it was a CEN Racing (a.k.a. Kyosho) in it. Tuned pipe kind of like the Nitro Hammer setup. Oh yeah, auto-bailers in it.

I have already seen this cat as my buddy painted the prototype for remy. Its such a cool little cat meand dean have decided to get one. Had the water not been hard, we would have taken the prototype for a test drive. hehe, but i think remy already knew that. haha, Ken

If it's the same guy that I think it is, he does do a Helluva paint job! When he brought in the new Gas OB tunnel into the show a few years ago, he had a crowd following him! The photos of that in the catalog can't do that boat justice, you have to see it in person.

Hello Guys,

They are finally rolling out the the new .18 powered Cat and it's nice! "The Rio Roses" for $139.95.
Well, these boats have been in use for quite some time in electrics. (not new) The Mean Machine just has a new lid, more scale looking. The Rio Rose is also a scale hull but the beam is way to narrow and the boat handles only so-so. If I was a nitro guy I would pop a .21 in the Mean Machine for racing.

Here's a link to both hulls with lots of good pics;

I was thinking the mean machine may have shrunk down to about 24" for a .18

29" sounds a little on the long side for .18 power

I agree, the Mean Machine 18 has the same dimensions as most of their .21/.45 Cat hulls so it makes you wonder why they didn't make it shorter, like around 24-26" long.

Chris' site is showing "The Rio Roses" as being 29", a larger hull than what is shown in the catalog but I also agree with you on that one, a narrow hull for the length. I think that the problem was that Remy made these initially for the owner of the full-sized boat so that it is more true scale than R/C scale.

Here's a pic that I stole from another site of it at the WRAM show.
