Looks like a 101 Twin to me?? Many are entering the water with BIG PROPS........ Maybe it will have more when broken in?

Joe, Yes, It will have more when ever Eric wants it to have. That is a boat I built, and engines, and it is heat racing 90+ heat race trim. Not 82-84 like most internet talkers. The 101's are unbelievable when setup right, and just big props won't due. This video shows Eric's twin running the same glow plugs he broke it in on.My twin is insane also, I wish I could have made the Charleston race. You guys have fun, Jeff Lutz

(Eric, let me also add the tuning you did is great!)

jeff,

so what do you have to do to the 101's to keep from burning pistons. for pulling the piston bosses out of the pistons. alot of people are blowing them up around here

chris

Tom, I pm'd the link to ya. I tried to post just the link and the video showed up. Here are some pics of the boat on the stand.

The videos that Fletch posted are from yeterday and the boat is running 90 mph in those videos. The video Ryon posted is from a few weeks ago at the tail end of break in and the boat is running at much slower speeds.

The engine in stock form is very conservative.I believe most people are leaning on the 3rd channel trying to get some rpm and simply go lean trying to make them run.The engines need a good bit of flow work and head volume changes. Jeff

Jeff................it only a question. Is the 90 buy gps or Radar??? I ask because I know what is have it was on radar.

It sounds like it was 3-4 clicks on the side of a Rich needle. Point is the pond is already full of them up here.... Just built 2 new RR Twins myself 1 RS101 Power, 1-VAC 91 Power. Both higher off the water than ever before...... turning 7.0 plus cup props. If you turn a 7 plus cup prop 26-28000 you know the speeds. Easy on plugs too if the volume is correct. Are you guys doing the VOODOO Race? Maybe I can slip down there for that Event & we can all race the TWINSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS? Carlos is asking the Twin Hydro guys to attend!!

Chris the guys that are buring Pistons & Destroying the piston skirts are running 14 percent oil & dont know how to handle the engine. Busted piston skirts are usually MONO Stuff. STUFFING a Nitro engine @ Full speed is NOT GOOD..... Believe me I have stuffed many piccos & killed the skirt & piston pin. the Rs101 wants 19-20 percent oil. on 60 percent nitro. If they are altering the intake timing & tuning by ear they are too lean. If they are too big on head volume & tuning by ear they are too lean. If the pipe is too big or too long & tuning by ear on a 3rd channel they are too lean. These engines run best on a boris flow meter reading of 38-40 you should be able to clean the motor out by ear on these numbers. if they check there needle on a clean run & find they are way above these flow numbers the engine parts, timing, pipe, fuel, volume, squish, Are out of Balance..... or the boat is set up WRONG........ I`am running 60-65 percent Nitro w 20 percent KLOTZ oil in my RS101`s & DO NOT have Piston problems........ps It takes 11 tanks of 24-25 oz per to break these bad boys in too.......... :D They need to stay rich & keep the piston speeds down untill after 10-11 tanks.

Joe, I think I might be able to race the voodoo race. The upper videos of Eric's twin were running upto 90.5 on a radar gun.The lower video he was still breaking in the motors. My twins have been running 1" off the water for years, just curiuos why you have pointed out how high off the water your new boats are? Either way, I'm sure your boats are running good, and yes it will be a good twin race if you come down to voodoo.Jeff

Hey Chuck, I was not there, but yes, Eric clocks all his boats on radar. In the upper video the boat is running upto 90.5 mph on radar. That is a big pond he is running in and he is running a bigger course than a race course. My twin has the same results.Jeff

I didnt say how high. I just said higher than before. As you know as you bring the hull up off the water, other attitudes change too. acceleration & deceleration is very diff & you can turn more COB pitch.keep me informed if you guys do the VOODOO I will try to make it.....
