Well i thought i would share my story with my fellow boaters . i was real excited at finding a job . got hired at beef o bradys as a cook been there 1 month today was real excited, trying to get caught up on bills and get out of the red. had to miss the charleston race , i wanted to go real bad but i had just started the new job and didnt want to push the issue. but my sprits were up and i was looking to start racing again by the first of next year. i had only a few pieces left to do on a couple of hulls and i would be finally finished( no boats to build ) yeah !!!

Well i had a day off and went with my brother to tampa yesterday and we thought we would try a new fishing spot on the way home ( salt water ) all was going well, the fish were bitting and having a good time. thought i would go and get some live bait. a couple of blocks away . jumped in the truck and off i went.( by myself) i stopped and threw my net and i had a crap load , turned and started walking towards my bucket with the net in hand and pop!! knee went out, down i go in the middle of a 2 lane road laying there in super pain. net full of (greenbacks) flopping around. i tryed to stand and that wasnt happing. i knew i was in trouble. i dragged the net and myself off the road and made it back to the truck by hopping like a rabbit . time to go home and then to the emergency room spent 3 hours there for a pair of cruches a knee brace and a perkacet and a useless xray . i have a appointment on monday with a specialist. but things arent looking good. so now im faced with the prospect of no income cant work, cant stand and no insurance and i probally lost my job. OH i forgot i cant even collect unployment . i have to be able to work. well i have my humor. at least i didnt get run over !!! HA HA HA

Man this economy sucks. My job sucks. My boss never supports me. Everything I touch is a carcinogen...... but I feel lucky to have a job.

I feel sorry for you Dan. I hope your luck gets better.....

Dan, sorry to hear brother. That really sucks. Hope your employer is understanding of such things.

Fishing accident lol, been there, went on a trip to Toronto lake few months ago and while I was catching bait I tripped and fell on the rocky creek bank arm fully extended carrying a 5gal bucket full of water and bait, ended up with a Trip to the ER, X-rays, pain meds had a separated clavicle-- no insurance(means limited treatment) and had to pass up some work the contractor had for me, So far that has been the most expensive fishing trip to date, AND im still limited as to how much I can push my arm to do before the shoulder starts hurting....

Keep your head up Dan and pray my friend. It always helps me through the tough times in life.

I know the pain your in. I blew out my left knee while stepping over a broken down barb wire fence when I was 15 years old. It was the first day of are archery deer season. I ripped cartilage, separated ACL and all.

God Bless,

Mark

I feel your pain. I went swimming with my kids dove off the diving board (did not hit bottom) and tore my shoulder capsule and the rotater cuff. I was out of work for a month. Not a day goes by this thing dont hurt.

Times are hard, it will all come around.

What happened to the bait ?, not easy to get good Greenbacks sometimes !!( LOL ) Hope things get better Dan , my knee is trashed from hyper extension , need to get it looked at as well .

Dan,

Fishing sounds like a lot of work. I go after I run my boats

at the lake. You will get better just keep your head up and

keep looking around you. Times are hard, but there is still

a lot of opportunity if you want to work hard to achieve it.

Keep Plugging Away Dan,

There are places ot get help, you just have to know where to look. Saying that I've had a few hospital bills is an understatement. 13 years ago today I had my first heart atack and have had a ton of them since. I found out that HALF of my bills goes towards people who have no insurance yet those who don't have it don't seem to know it so the money is here but of course the hospitals don't want you to know that!

Many places from state agencies to United Way and the Salvation Army can also help in times of need, use them as that's we give at work or throw money into the red kettles.
