JD 30" WOF P Limited Sport Hydro

We are going to start running P Limited Sport Hydro at District 8 Points races this year. Since I have lots of 1/10 Scale batteries and ESUs, that could be used in a P Limited Sport Hydro, I decided to design and build a hull. The hull is 30" in length with an 8" tunnel width and an overall width of 13.5". At a P Limited Sport Hydro race I watched last year, I noticed some boats were blowing off. They were going crazy fast.
I decided to design some down force into the front of the center section and the sponsons. Since I haven't had an opportunity to run the design WOT throttle yet due to wind and water condition, I don't know if it might work. I had to increase the AOA on the sponson bottoms after the boat acted more like a red submarine than a hydroplane the first test session. With the increase in AOA, the boat now get up on step quickly. I'm considering naming it "Miss Cialis."

The motor is a HUFF 2150 KV and a 150 amp SeaKing ESC. The first successful test run was with a Prather 220. Actually, the unsuccessful first test session was with the Prather.

Tested the boat with a X 447 this morning. It looked faster than the Prather 220. Anyone running PLSH with other prop suggestions?

Tommy Levescy holds the record with a Grim 42x55. Reach out to him and see what Kv he runs. Without knowing your amp draw, it would be hard to recomend something. Also batteries will make a hugh difference. Our P-limited hydros were running pretty good when we left for the Nats. We made a battery change when we got there and picked up an easy 5mph. And everything was cooler.

Thanks Mark. I just mounted a turn fin on the left sponson, reversed the wires on the ESC, and now I will be able to test all the R pitch props I have collected for my 1/10 scale hydroplanes. I'm running a HUFF 2150 kv and after running the X 447 ESC and motor were barely warm. But the outside temp was 35 degrees.

This is a really poor quality photo of the boat at full speed. Hard ro get quality shots with a cell phone. But it does show how clean the boat is running. I adjusted the strut angle to neutral. I do have a video, but I need to find out how to reduce it so I can post it.
