JAP .12 Video!

Rod asked for me to share this video of Martin's JAP .12. As it was explained to me this is a JAP .12 with a Nova Rossi 12, Glenn Quarles Pipe, Props 4 U 1440. The speed in the video Rod said was 66-67mph!

I just talked to Truex......I stand corrected.......the boat is running 64 in this video.......

The sponsons on the boat in the video are identical to the sponsons on the plans....

This boat has run 74 on radar with a V937-3..........

Get your JAP.12G boats built and I will tell you exactly what to do to get a motor to run like in the video....this motor will have to be a rear exhaust motor

not a side port .12......The motor changes include timing changes,setting the head clearance to effect a good compression ratio and a good carb mod......

The pipe you see in the video is from Glenn Quarles.......there is no Dremel grinding done whatsoever to the motor internals ..... B)

Thats a very effiecient running hull, it's totaly dry in the straights and doesn't pick up much water in the turns. The little bugger can realy sing the high note too. Very cool! B)

The one you saw used the same ideas but was my design (with phone and email design input from rod and martin). I will finish that boat and one of these as well

Zaker Jr. told me months ago that Martin's 12 boat could hang with most 20 boats..........had to see it to believe it. A 12 boat running around 70mph in oval trim is just incredible......

Guys,

We have done quite a bit of propeller work to optimize Martin's set up.

The propellers that I have done for him have been fine tuned to his set up.

The boat will go even faster with some other options that I am working on.

Diameter and cupping is critical if you want to go that fast.
