I'll make the boat JAE. This is my first outrigger, which I made myself. Very little knowledge of the characteristics of these boats.

I ask for some valuable information.

Material for the production of hull:

- 1.5 mm plywood, glued together in two layers

- Sponsons will use 1.5 mm plywood.

Other

- CMB 91HR engine

- pipe Cooper silent nitro pipe

- trothle and needle servo digital 4,5kg, 0,12sek

- ruder servo 12kg, 0,18sek

- 2 lipo 7,4V

- UBEC 5A, 6V

What dimension of material to choose for food sponsons. I have the choice of:

Aluminium tube

outer diameter: 16 mm

inner diameter: 12 mm

wall thickness: 2 mm

or

outer diameter: 12 mm

inner diameter: 10 mm

wall thickness: 1 mm

How long should I use the rudder 120-130 mm or longer?

Nobody knows???

Kobam let's see per parts:Tub must be built with 1/4"thick...1/8"(1,5+1,5mm) isn't enough to hold this power without suffer stress of torsion. For sponsons is ok use 1/8"or 3mm plywood.Stick to the large diam alu tube or carbon fiber tubes(my personal choice)with 14mm outer diam and 12mm inner.Stick to a 130mm rudder to start testing so you can shorten it if necessary. Thanks for the information.

When putting the hull will change manufacturing technique.

I will use 2x beech plywood (indoor and outdoor planking), in the middle of 4mm birch plywood, further reinforced by two layers of glass cloth and epoxy resin.
