The .21 boat is built to told an 8oz Sullivan tank. If you were to fill the tank area with a custom tank it would be way too big. I had Walt build a tank for me but provided him with the dimensions. I talked to him first about the capacity before he went ahead. Mine came out to 9.4oz. Just a heads up.

Dave,

I'm not questioning your tank or the quality of it. I run Walts tanks in all my boats. I'm just trying to help Shane make an informed decision. I sat my current .21 tank in the open cavity and had over an inch of extra space, front to back. Enough space in fact that I considered putting in a bulkhead to hold that particular tank. Problem is... I couldn't decide wheather to keep the tank more forward or back. Not to mention I cut the hull down almost 1/2" off the top. I'm just guessing but if you filled the cavity with a tank that fits close, you would be carrying around 12oz or so. Way too much for a .21 in my opinion. Looking forward to the pics.

ps. If someone could do the volume math. The dimensions are as follows... 5" L x 2 3/4 W x 1 3/4 H

Less than 10 OZ. You can put a piece of foam in front of the tank to take up space or you can put foam at the rear of the tank. You can run the boat and see if it make any changes.I don't think it's going to change much.

The blackjack tank is a little over 9 OZ and after a run I have around 1 OZ. left and that is with a Mac.

The picture will be post in the rigger forum.

Depending upon which calculator you believe, that works out to between 12.8 oz to 13.3333 oz

Thanks for that Wes. Shouldn't be hard to pass Dave with a full tank. Lol

I think you need a new calculator.Walt said it's around 10 OZ. Ron ,if it's more then that I willn't fill it all the way up.Boat weight is 3lb 8oz so extra fuel shouldn't be a problem.
