Jae turn fin location and mounting options

What holes have you guys found work well for the turn fin and do the wood scews and washers work fine or would you recommend something different ?

I am trying to avoid drilling more holes than i need in the dowels and want to use a secure waterproof method to mount the TF.I was considering long 40-40 capscrews and blint nuts(t-nuts)

i used 6# cap screws with brass anchors seem to be a good fit for that size turnfin

Hi Terry!

I used 4-40 blind nuts for mounting my turn fin last yr; however, to prevent the the "teeth" of the blind nuts from coming thru the 1/16" ply, I had to doubleup on the thickness on the wood in that area. Worked fine.
