Is the motor and ESC from a UL-1 to much for this boat? I want to run it on 3s. Don't know anything about F/E but want to give it a go. Any input will be helpful. Ryon Shaw

i do have a 4400kv 6 pole from a helicopter going in next with a 3s.

I built one for grandkids (and another for myself!) two years ago, keep in mind the intent is for entry level sport not racing. With bare bones set up on 2s Hobby King 4400kv, Castle Thunderbird 54 esc, HK 2700 60C battery and tuned Octura x430, all enclosed air cooled, I consistently see low 4Os. Stock x430 high 30s. Plastic props will throw blades don't bother. I've tried an x432 profiled down to x430 with same back cut, maybe just a tink faster but gets too close to melt down without water cooling. I get 3.5-4 minutes run times and motor does get to 150 F so need to cool down between runs. I do lightly oil bearings every few runs. This is a light build hull and I think 3s is just too much for what it is.

PM me if you want.
