Tommy, patience bud.

The only one really seen so far is someone's idea of what maybe a gas version could look like based on the JAE design parameters. Having both the .12 and .21 versions there are little things that are changed between those and some of those are now in a version 2 of the .12 kit.

If you sorted through the many other JAE threads, the prototype is in the works. From the timeline that I've seen, don't expect to see it out until at least spring and to me, that would be really soon. I think that Joe knows that I want on that list when he starts cutting them out. Maybe a rear exhaust RCMK for power?

I think that it will be a lot more than just a blown up .21 or .45 for that matter as there is a lot more weight with a big old gas motor in there. I've still got 3 other JAE's to finish first so I'm staying out of trouble (except with the wife) for now. Momma says daddy(me)has to unload some of the other fleet. :(

Thanks Ron, just looking for basic dimensions, to get a materials quote from my builder, ill be sticking the CMB 26cc motor in this one.

We are currently building 2 prototype GAS JAE boats. One is for Bill Zuber and it will have a rear exhaust RCMK and the other will have factory stock Zenoah setup with a pipe. Would like to thank Joe at Zip Kits for all his support with the factory Zenoah boat. Both boat hulls will be identical so we will be able to get some good data between the two factory motors. Looks like we will be able to start testing around the first of February.

Can you give us some measurements? id like to start building the engine asap.

I can speak for David and myself.....everything we have done concerning weight distribution and other design parameters used to build the JAE .12,.21,.45 & .90 boats have been published on IW for public consumption......

Until we have had the opportunity to test the prototype gas boat JAE is not going to release or suggest any boat measurements.

As soon as we are happy with the gas boat performance,Joe at Zippkits will be the first to know....At that time he can either

publish drawings or build a kit,or both....his choice.....[i know a kit is definetly in the plans from Zippkits.]

The Roadrunner gas hull is essentially built upon a 90 nitro hull, a very true and race tested hull over many years. So if you generally take the 90 JAE hull plans you may be very close to what the final version may end up. Just make sure the hull is wide enough to accept the gas engine vice a nitro engine. Speculation of course but is quite logical. Or you can wait until later in the year for the final plans and kit to come out.
