Need to replace them with something that will stand up a little better than the stock tubes.

Whats everyone using ?

Thanks Tim K

Keep in mind that if you beef up the boom tubes, something else has to give.

We like the hollow 5/16 tubes because they act as a "fuse" and limit damage when you hit something.

There is a lot of inertia in one of these boats, and it must be transferred somewhere...

The other option is to not hit anything.

Once we figure out a way to make buoys repel boats instead of attract them, we will be set!

And they look awesome when they grenade at 60 mph!

I would have destroyed a boat with aluminum tubes yesterday, but instead I just put new sticks in for $8. I recommend the hollow 5/16.

Ron did beat me in all 3 heats with his solid 1/4 booms though, so you may want to listen to him.

Joe is absolutely right, Go with the hollow carbon tubes. Buoy 2 was destroyed and my right sponson sheared off with absolutely no damage to my JAE21. He was there and saw it and I'm thrilled that all I needed to do was replace the tubes. I bought 2 sets of spares because they are cheaper than a boat and buoy 2 has been replaced. Tom

I completely agree with you that the best option is not hitting anything in the first place but I barely brushed the buoy and the sponson sheared off.

It was such a light hit that I didn't even realize that I touched the buoy until I seen the sponson going a different direction than the boat.

I did drive the boat back to the pits with one sponson though LOL.

Ron were are you getting your solids from?

Thanks for the replies guys.
