Beautiful! Are you using a "Glenn" (mod to carb) motor and Texan pipe? Stock turn fin? What strut? Can you post some pics for us?

We cut half the spray bar halfway out like Glenn does, pipe is get this a Irwin Quiet outboard pipe using a Traxas coupler. Prop we like most is a Lynx cut x442,plain Speedmaster strut turned around backwards and cut off. We have seen 55 and change on radar,it does take a half lap or so to get up but when she goes its worth all the time testing we have spent. Ask Ron Zaker how sweet this boat runs.............. Mike

Forget pictures, the sound is intoxicating!

But since you asked...

The 'lake serpent' has torn up the sponsons a little bit, but still a runner as seen (heard) in the video.

Turn fin made according to this pattern - here

Strut is a hacked-up speedmaster as mentioned above.

Rudder is zipp-kits .12 profiled, and shortened.

It took lots of testing to get to this point. About a gallon of 65%, 2-3 oz at a time!

AND it got its initiation run in January with ICICLES hanging on it.

That is one of the secrets to making a boat run. It has to be tempered:).

Jeff's boat is definitely fast! Thought it was a gonner when it went airborne when he was testing before race day....glad you got it back together for the race.

That's my boat that died off buoy five...leaned it up a bit much for that heat...figures I would have problems when I finally got a good start! I was really hoping to give Jeff a run for the money in the final. Lucky to get it in the water due to a loose connection...that delay caused me to have a terrible start...ended up flipping anyway.

I was running approximately 15 second laps on Thursday before the race with an X440...thinking about trying a X438 to get some more RPM's :D

I wouldn't be where I am now without Mike and Jeff's help....Thanks Guys!

Reminder to self...get a flow meter...

Tim,

You just need to reduce the cup on the trailing edge of any of the propellers.

It kills the RPM in any motor. We have had great success with a 40 x 53 B/C recently.

Have Fun Testing,

Mark Sholund
