JAE 12 Electric

Has anyone electrified a JAE 12? If so what motor, esc, battery and prop did you use? How does it run?

If I remember correctly, the JAE 12 is too small to fit batteries, so people are running electric motors in the JAE 21.

The kit version won't quite work. You need to move the back sponson tube further back so you can fit a pack between the tubes. The radio box bulkhead also needs to be moved back so you can mount the motor further back.

You can get the plans for the 12 free online, the mods are easy to do if you build it from scratch.

If I ever build an electric version I'll change the profile of the deck a bit so I can tape a flat lid overtop of everything. The motor can sticks above the top a bit if you build the tub as per the plan profile.
