Ok...so as Mark pointed out...I randomly made 2 sets of holes in the center section formers...these were just to keep all four in alignment for sanding purposes...but actually worked out to an advantage....if you notice on the sponson...I have the Measurmemts for the position to the center section..3/4" on the sponson rear...and 13/16" 11" forward of the rear edge...I drew a line and positioned the sponson on the center section...I marked the sponson position with a pencil through the holes...now I have a exact location to mount the sponsons after all the sheeting is attached...
And with a Greatplanes 12" sander and about 40 minutes we have 2 identical sponsons

Maybe I didn't make it clear enough. When the holes are drilled, they should be done at the same time. Line the center section pieces to the spoon inside and drill the holes at the same time, this is done before any gluing occurs. This is done for many factors. Most importantly would be to make sure the angle of the center is where you want it. Zero degree is mostly used.

Hello everyone...
Well I have about 6.5 hours invested So far in this project....from a box of parts to semi mocked up boat...weighing in at this point at 1lb 3oz.....or 550 grams..
Im waiting on the outer chines (1/8"x1/2")to have a starting point for final sponson sanding to start attaching the wood skins...

It funny how the simplest task can really get me...the radio box...simple right...four sides and a bottom...well I took it apart 3 times..I had a problem getting it square and plum...I also added foam in between the center section formers..shaped the front former double(nose)..and the plans call for two different transom insets... If you have an O.S. or lawless..inset 1-1/2"....K & B 5/8 - 7/8"...I would like to split the difference and go 1-3/16"..I have K&B now...but may go Lawless in the near future..or try a hopped up Thunder Tiger..

Hello everyone...
Just a disclaimer...the picture shown is not any sort of advertising....I just had to use what was available for weight...
So this is where the Tunnel boat is going to really start to take shape...the 1/2"x1/8 spruce arrived and I attached to the sponson outer edge...I used a aluminum 36"rule to mark the exact location and to be straight from sponson rear to the bow..I also used a saw to put some relief cuts into the spruce to allow them to bent to the shape of the sponson outer edge..
Ihe pic below shows the sanding order I'm planning to use...if I do this again...the sponson top inner sheet will be flat...currently it has a 10° + - angle that is not of any need...
So I will be sanding and sanding ...also need to get my other tunnel ready for the weekend....

Update...
All the center section foam is cut and sanded to about 1/32" above the formers...I left them slightly high...the epoxy sealing change the height slightly..
Then a complete final sand and attach the top decking..notice the high tech tools...just basic stuff and some arm powers to operate the manual sander..haha.....

So this is where it starts to get real..I started sanding the top of the sponsons..
Its very important to take you time and use a lot of patience...

Something that I use to check your sanding the same all along the sponson is the adjustable angle. You can set it at one end and then run it along the insdie end of spnson to see where you need to sand more. Not so critical on the top side. When you do the bottoms, its very handy.

Thanks for the tip and link....its on order..!!!
I need to come up with some sort of sanding table with complete adjustable geometry...and use the sponson side former as my referance point and sand all other sides from the one starting point..possibly a super high quality hot wire cutter may work.
So I will pause the sanding until the Amazon order arrives..yea!!!...another tool.....
