Have a CMB 101 RS in a Razor now and running mid to upper 60's with it on 50% with a Mac 1390 pipe and a 7016-410 prop. I am guessing my pipe should be changed. Thought it was a 1395

for a while because that is what I had ordered. Never looked at the package and saw the packaging I had saved recently and it was a 1390. Tried plenty of props but it really likes the 7016 and other gas props. It runs like a rocket Question is could that 1390 be taking away much. Would a properly setup 91 vac be simlar or any better suited to a mono or stick with the 101's.

What pipes does the 91 vac do well with? Those that own or have owed both should I just stick with my 101's?

i know it sounds weird but i have heard alot of people running the cmb 67 SMALL volume MUFFLED pipe on that motor with good results

Not a Vac I know but to add to Chris's comment about 67 pipes on big motors. I have a CMB 91 RS that ran really good on the Andy Brown 67 Parabolic pipe but the lake monster got it. Now I am trying the black A/B 67 pipe, need to shorten it a bit but I think it will get there.

Would you get more rpm out of a 91 VAC?

I think the motor would be a bit lighter too.

I'll be interested to hear what the engine gurus have to say about this :D

Thanks for the replies. It may be better off with the 1390 than if I had a 1395 on it, maybe? if a bit tighter is what it likes. Thanks for the replies. I guess I stick with the 101 and tune and work on setup and maybe some other props. The props usually recommended seem to run out of steam. A 467 does nothing but spin it was stock, thinned, sharpened and balanced. What other prop suggestions would be good to try on a Razor. It liked a Bob Austin 2814/4 also and most gas props.

This video is with a long CMB muffled black pipe. Quiet but takes a lot away.

just something for u to consider..im working with Jerry from seaducer..were running a 44inch boat with a VAC 91, and its not even fully broken in yet, but its looking awesome..remember jerry made a 97mph pass with the vac, he feels that this is the better motor to go with than the 101..small prop, short cmb 67 muffled pipe and lots of RPM"s..
