Irwin 21 pipe

Found a new Irwin muffled 21 pipe in local hobby shop cheep. Want to use it with Rossi 22R21 eng would this be a good match for this eng. Going to set up eng for 32000 RPM.

Try it.. if it does not throttle well, cut the can off it and put an interal stinger in it. If is is the old RPM pipe it is one of the best out there.

It's old some wear late 80 early 90 still has lite green label with measurements for 21,45,67.

When you say cut of can do you mean grind of spot welds if so how can I reattach it with out welding it.

If it has a can its squared at the rear with a outlet in the corner. If not its a nitro pipe several versions around

Yes it is a can square at the end with a small out let in the corner and the can is tack welded on. It has 21 hand written on the label.

That is an Irwin quiet pipe.

Irwin 21 muffled, the tack welds are where the converging cone starts on the inside. If you cut the can off just aft of the welds you'll have to re-weld the cone shut as it'll leak...

I'd just run it, think you'll be happy with it.

Ok next question what length. It stats 8" to 8 1/2" with the novarossi 180 header it is not going to leave any room for coupler. The header will slide in to pipe but would protrude in to cone. Is there a problem with the header sticking out into the cone of the pipe or would this cause anti reversion.

Still looking for a answer how much of the header can you stick in the pipe?
