Hey Guys,

I bought this engine, the rossi .21 listed in the for sales here on IW. The engine is new, not been run.

I've been looking for info on this motor and really have found nothing. Anyone have any history or details on the motor? I have had a few Rossi .12 motors and I feel that machining and detail was second to none,.. at least on those Pixy motors. Loved'em. I'm hoping this is the same,..

So let me what you know about it..

Engine purchased from Beau Parsons post in for sales.

anthony, i've never run rossi's, but that is an engine that would be suitable for an ob - when converted. maybe some of the ob guys can help with info.....

I had a Rossi .21 in my Speedmaster 21, the Niagra version I think. They make 3 versions of it but basically they're the same except for the colors. Does it have the oval cooling head on it?

OK, if so, read on.

It takes about a gallon of fuel to get it broken in but you'll see a difference every tankful. As it gets broken it, it'll like bigger props. The prop that mine loved I was told that it shouldn't be able to spin it but it did with ease, an Octura M-445. I used an Irwin quiet pipe and a Nova Rossi header as Rossi's header makes the pipe hang out too far, the NR will keep it in close. I ran a cold #7 plug in mine but I was using high nitro.

My son raced the boat and gave the CMB's and MAC's a run for their money, lapped all but one boat at a district race and didn't pass that one as he didn't run it WOT.

Thanks Ron... I think this is an older version because it's not the oval head and case design. I'll post pics and stuff when I get it.

What boat are you going to use? They also like the OS Carb or the DJ carb .As a new motor do your normal clean up inspection, can also use some engine mods depending on where you want to go with it. Need to know your application for the use of the motor.

Hey Anthony,

I have been running rossi and nova rossi engines for over 22 years now, post a pic bud and I will give you all info I can when I can look at it.

Ok, now that I can see what we are looking at. This engine was produced in two models a 3 port and later a 5 port that was changed into the well know rossi 5T it should be identical to a 5T 5 port engine in every way exept for the anodized gold head. There should be no case markings exept for the R on the side. Alot of these engines you will see have been converted to O.B. or where sold as outboards and run very well. There is really no info on alot of the engines produced and very hard to find any info period. I hope this helped you out.
