Sorry just sold one last week. But a little advice on buying used trailers. A friend of mine bought a used U-Haul trailer from some person that had one for sell. He fix it up for his church singing group that he had. He painted it and dress it up real nice. Well he was going to Nashville Tn. driving north on I-65. A guy that work for U-Haul saw the trailer and saw that it was a old U-Haul trailer. These trailers have differant parts that have U-Haul's name on them. The guy call the law enforement people as he follow the trailer. My friend was stop any was arested for having a stolen trailer. My friend had a bill of sell and a tag on the trailer but no title. And only in the past few years have trailer been required to have a title in this state. The whole thing was cleared up but he lost the trailer and his money that he had spend on the trailer. What my friend did not know and what most people do not know is the guy that work for U-Haul said that U-haul does not sell used trailers when they get to old they scrap them. Also the guy said that it is very hard to recover stolen trailers when they still have the U-Haul logo painted on them but when there are painted a differant way they stick out and are easy to spot. I thought I would past this story along because a lot of our fellow racers are using trailers now.
